It's about a 30' minute walk to visit the cave from the nearest parking area but it's really worth it as it's a unique place. The cave is also accessible by boat. Swimming is possible and I recommend it since the sea in the nearby area is great.

The Cave of Agios Stefanos (St. Stefanos) is a hard to reach but beautiful cave in Syros. It is approximately an hour – hour and a half walk from Galissas but you can also drive uphill from Galissas until the dirt road, from there it’s a 30 – 45 minute walk. The dirt path is steep and sometimes hard to find since it’s on top of a mountain but it is definitely worth visiting while on Syros.

Nice small church just in a cave in rocks. Pathway is a bit complicated, but still affordable with a proper shoes.

An incredible hike. I will emphasis that it is a very steep and long walk down the mountain, followed by a challenging climb back up. But if you are in shape, I highly recommend this. The views are extremely rewarding and the church in the cave is a beautiful site to see

Don't make my mistake and take water with you. ;) Hiking shoes and hat, that can't be blown up by the wind, is strongly recommended. :)

The place is very beautiful. Wild rocks, some day windy and waves. The way to come is a path on the rocks. Or by boat, so if you have children or old people it's not a good idea to walk here. The path has many stairsade on rocks which are ok for young and sportive people but not for the others. The view is breathtaking and deserves to visit it.

Nice and relativly easy walk for a very special church, built in a cave.
