A beautiful little museum on a hill above the church, truly decorated with great knowledge and transparency with extensive descriptions of the history of Ikaria.

A must visit place to learn about Ikaria's history. Excellent exhibition.
Although small, it’s clean and very well put together. They should begin charging a small fee to keep it that way though, because it’s worth a few Euros to see and is something that needs to last. I highly recommend going!
No very big but a comprehensive look into the history of ikaria. Enjoyed my visit very much. Helpful and friendly staff
Great museum for the island worth the visit and free. It covers most of the islands ancient history from the Paleolithic era but it is small enough to enjoy quickly.
Well worth a visit if you're in Agios Kirikos. It has a good collection of items from around Ikaria, as well as a description of the renovation of the Dharakano Tower, near Faros. A visit helps put some of the sites that you may have seen travelling around Ikaria into context. Well presented in a nicely renovated former school. More effort should be made to promote the museum.
This is an excellent small museum in a lovely building, with interesting exhibits, very well laid out, and very good descriptions written in Greek and English. Incorporating the 11,000 year history of habitation on this beautiful island; there are many ancient finds from all over the island, and fascinating references to the island in Ancient Greek writing and poetry. There's interesting background too on gods like Artemis, and of course the myth of Icarus. Very well worth a visit. And free too! Opening hours are Monday to Friday 08.30-15.00.
A must see site while visiting Ikaria. Well thought out and presented. Excellent companion text. Admission is free. It's open Monday - Friday until 3:00 pm.
