We reported a coordinated theft of our personal belongings at the National Garden to a nearby police posted outside the garden. The criminals (at least 2 males in their late 20s) smeared me and my son’s jacket with paint without us knowing, and then offered to assist to remove the paint stain. We got distracted and before I knew it my bag was gone. There was no effort by the Athens Police to assist us with our loss. All we were told was we should go to a police station to make a report. There was no attempt by the police posted outside the garden in a white police van on Dec 24 around 12:30 pm to take our information at all. They told us to be careful because it happens all the time in Athens, that’s it. I hope the Mayor and Police Chief of Athens read this review. I will definitely warn all our friends who are thinking about going to Greece for a vacation.

Very unprofessional cops here.they are in their sweat pants and t shirts playing video games on their computer.when victim's ask them for help or what to do they don't even explain at all. don't ever come to this horrible place and don't expect the cops r real cops.tbey don't even act like cops...for sure corrupted.when u in a foreign country and the police doesn't even do their job to help out is the worst feeling ever.

Don't even bother to come here. Waste of time and they won't help you. I could guess the building was a police station for the policemen standing outside but inside the place looks abandoned and the 'policemen' wear normal shorts and t-shirts not uniform. While waiting, one of the policemen took the fingerprints of a man in the waiting room in front of everyone...very unprofessional. After 50min waiting, I fed up and knocked at the door to ask how long more I would need to wait. Then they told me I was in the wrong place and I would need to go to the tourist police office. If you are tourist and you got something stolen, go straight to this address: Dragatsaniou 4, Athina 105 59

This is the local police station not the tourist police station Google search POLICE FOR TOURIST to find the right place. Tourist Police Station is at Penpestimio Metro station. Airport metro charge is 10 flat but the interchange stations are dangerous for tourist. I lost my wallet at Syntagma station. Take a daily Metro pass for 4.5 Euros to travel anywhere on the metro route.

Dragatsaniou 4 is the place to go if you are in Athens and any of your belongins has been stolen or lost and you need a police report to file a claim for the insurance company. The police station has a form template ready for you to complete. Police will give you an original while the report is filed. It is all free of charge and it would 10 or 15 minutes depending on how fast you can complete the form. If you lost your passport, it will take longer, of course. And you'd need to go to your embassy as well.

Not the place to report crime, it’s only a police station. Sent to the Tourist police on the north side of town.
