One of the oldest churches in Athens. It was part of the Grand Monastery that according to the archaeologists was built in 10th century AD. It is located at Monastiraki square, one of the busiest places in Athens. Monastiraki metro station is a few meters away. A very nice place to enjoy the lively side of the city. Worth a visit!

Nice, small Orthodox church at the central square of Monastiraki, in the historical centre of Athens.
The only church in Athens, that you will rarely see a person self praying when they pass in front of it. And if someone does, they will stare at them like they're coming from another planet. Fair enough...because the location of the church is totally out of sync with the whole area of Monastiraki. Tourists, Ancient sites, cafés, restaurants, etc. Apart from that, it's nice to hang around sitting at the church's small wall.
Located on Monastiraki square, surrounded by many shops, restaurants, and the flea market.
A historical church, but most of it is roped off for visitors and photos are strictly not allowed. Better to go to more friendly old churches like Kapnikarea or Agioi Theodoroi (near Panepistimio).
Nice little Greek Orthodox church in a small plaza with lots of delicious gyro shops around.
Many food stands here for exploration of local food.
Nice architecture in Monastiraki Square
