Houses some of the most important artifacts from a variety of archaeological locations around Greece from prehistory to late antiquity. It is considered one of the greatest museums in the world and contains the richest collection of artifacts from Greek antiquity worldwide

Mostly sculptures, and many very old ones from thousands of years ago. I found the tombstones especially touching, showing the dead person reaching for her baby, or looking in a mirror. Thank goodness I was listening to the Rick Steves Audio Europe App (free download online), he described the artworks so enthusiastically that it made the visit that much more valuable.
Athens best and largest museum . Having a variety of exhibitions it is a must see for anyone ! Located in the centre of Athens it is easily reachable by train , bus or a taxi .
A must see .. a place to visit in Athens. Highly recommend if you want to see the best place in the world for the best collection of greek ancient examples.. blew my mind
Beautiful collection of cars in spectacular condition! Makes you realize how we miss good design these days. The lighting is very flattering and the use of soft period music in the background is brilliant and really takes you back to those days. Bravo! To the management team, I would recommend lifting up the information signs (about each model) off the floor as they're practically inexistent like this. Thanks for a lot of fun!
Kind of expensive (12/pax) and not student discount (just under 25 discount). The museum is extensive and interesting, and covers the vast majority of greek sculpture and artistic development. In the ends It gets repetitive, but in general terms its worth it
As the oldest museum institution in Ukraine, the roots of this attraction can be followed back to 1825. There are up to 170,000 exhibits at the museum, all relating to the ancient history of this region, as well as Greece, Italy, Egypt and Cyprus. The palace housing the attraction is from 1883, and catches the eye for its big Neoclassical portico. The sarcophagi, papyrus and hieroglyphics in the Egyptian galleries are always crowd-pleasers. And there’s a huge collection of 50,000 coins from Ancient Greece through to the days of the Russian Empire. The museum also maintains an exhibit under a glass canopy on Primorksy Boulevard where you can view the foundations of a Bronze Age settlement from the 5th to 3rd centuries BC.
Well worth the visit! Though I basically had the whole museum to myself so can’t speak to how it would be in a crowd. Though still worth it obviously.
