Place of transformation...
like
It is part of the Monastery of Saint John the Theologian. It is where St.John heard the voice of God and wrote the book of Revelation. Easily accessible by car and you only need 20-30 minutes to visit it. It is open until 13:30 so it is something to do before you hit the beach.
This place means a lot to me.. When I entered the cave, I sat down on the bench and closed my eyes and tried to imagine that Sunday morning when John saw the open sky... I am very glad that I was here... I love Patmos.
Just a church.
a long way to this place was worth it. very interesting to touch a piece of history, advise everyone
A bit more information please. The Restauration of the place is wonderful and the picture and objects you can see are really nice. But the context is missing. You get an information table on the beginning how the Restauration is but nothing about the history. More English information would be nice.
Beautiful site to say the least. UNFORTUNATELY THE "TOUR GUIDES" RUINED THE SITE. THEY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR THE SITE AND THEY WALK IN TALKING LOUDLY EXPLAINING THE HOLY PLACE WHILE PPL ARE TRYING TO PRAY. LISTEN YOU TOUR GUIDES, LEARN SOMETHING. TELL YOUR TOURIST ECERYTHING THEY NEED TO KKOW BEFORE OR AFTER VISITING. OR EVEN BETTER GOOGLE IT SO YOU CAN GO OUT OF BUISSNESS BEACUSE YOUR VOICE IS UNNECESSARY! TRY IF YOU CAN, to visit the site off tourist peak hrs so you can enjoy the silence, energy & history as we all deserve without disruption & disrespect.
Craziest cab driver ever, made it from the port up to top in record time. Small and crowded, yet very cool. THis place gives you a different vibe.
