Chemecon's story begins in 2013 when a new voluntary, independent organization is set up on the initiative of a team of chemical engineering students from the National Technical University of Athens. Its mission is to connect students with the subject of their studies and prepare them for integration into the labor market. Since 2017, Chemecon has been the first independent, not-for-profit, voluntary Αssociation of New Chemical Engineers in Greece. It works continuously for student-to-student activities such as industry visits, hard / soft skills seminars, lectures, workshops (ChemDays) and more. Values ​​such as creativity, professionalism, love of chemical engineering, collaboration and the culture of thinking out of the box have been a part of the team for years. The same values, combined with the needs of chemical engineering students in Patras, led to the idea of ​​Chemecon Patras. This is a new venture aimed at re-bridging the gap between studies, academic community and work environment. At the initiative of a team of five chemical engineering students from the University of Patras, a new volunteer organization is set up to expand Chemecon's work in Patras. Having more in common and sharing the same values, Chemecon and Chemecon Patras are linked with bonds of cooperation and trust with the ultimate goal of getting to know and network more and more Chemical Engineers in Greece.
