I have been going Corfu for about 35 years. It almost amuses me that the reviews talk of airport refurbishment. I've been going here all my life and there's always been significant building works going on so don't think it will be finished anytime soon, if ever. They need to consider how much the passenger numbers have increased in that time and compare it to how much the scope has improved for handling them! I have to talk about the last visit. On our return journey, i walked past domestic departures. I had to walk all the way to the other end of the airport to find out where International departures check-in. Before i could speak she said "this is luggage, why do you still have it? why, why, why?" she explained "go down there and turn left!" so i asked her to confirm, "where it says "domestic departures?" so she sighed "Yes, i know" I'm not going to let airport or its staff put me off going again though. The way i see it, You have to take the rough to get to the smooth.
Nice island to visit
Very poor as airport lounges go, not much to do or much choice in overpriced food etc. We ended up here for much longer than anticipated due to Thomas Cook and it was no fun. Put a bit of a dampener on what was a lively holiday. All the food etc is way overpriced and there is no arcade etc for kids.
Slowly developing. Extremely busy in peak season. Toilets are very clean and well kept. It would be nicer if there were more places to eat. Maybe they're coming with the next development phase.
I love corfu but the airport is small and so there is not much to choose from food wise or shops to browse, if your flight is delayed. Other than that its ok.
Corfu Airport is small and uncomfortable. I hope he has a great future as this magical island is visited by an incredible number of tourists.
Typical airport. But if you have the chance, look at it from the top which is called Canon. The sight of the planes landing or taking off from the short track is worth. Also you will be impressed by the fact that the track ends two meters form the main street of the city. They even stop the traffic when a plane lands or takes off.
