Best fish restaurant in town. A little pricier than the rest, but worth a visit. You must try fresh fish there when visiting Donoussa. The black bream was the best I had in a long time. Highly recommended.

We stopped here for the aperitif to enjoy sunset and were blown away by the detailed and extensive wine and drinks menu, so many beautiful, mainly local wines, ouzos and tzipouros! So we stayed for dinner and were not disappointed. Tasty starters, fresh fish prepared with care (stuffed sardines with garlic and parsley to die for) and served with elegance and style, staff is always ready for a chat. We were disappointed though that the desserts featured in the drinks menu were not available (need to prebook in the morning?), therefore one star away. Returned the next morning for coffee, which was excellent!
The view is great, the staff was very professional. The prices were steep. 3 stars because I have experienced something for the first time in my life. When we asked for the available desserts we were told that the only available dessert was halva. 2 minutes later the table next to us ordered ice cream. Unacceptable. If I visit Donousa again I will make sure to avoid dining in Avli.
We tried Avli after 5 or 6 other restaurants on the island and neither the food, neither the treat of the waiters match with the genuine and original taste Donousa has within it. The waiter suggested us to take 1 more plate as the portions were small, in the end it resulted in too much food. The fact that is overpriced doesn’t help and it is for sure not worth it.
The most gourmet food at Donousa island! Giorgos and Dimos will guide you not only for the food but also for the right wine for you dinner! There is an extensive list of Greek wines but you ask for something special also. Stuffed Kalamari, cuttlefish with black ink rice and Octopus with honey and saffron from Kozani were really delicious. Ask for the fish of the day and how it is cooked! Make a reservation in advance as sometimes is difficult to find a table.
Nice food. Great view. Super friendly. And you would not expect it, but they have surprisingly nice retsina. I would go back.
Good location, nice atmosphere but the food unfortunately was not something really special. Overpriced for what they offer.
