Another victim of greek politicians. Will never do something to promote this, because politicians don't like heroes. Bad for business.

Excellent historical place of national and international value since many fought and died here during the Greek Independence War. Very nice garden, an oasis in the rather unassuming rest of the city.. A very good reason to visit to Mesologgi,
The Garden of Heroes of Mesolongi is a historic memorial site commemorating the heroism of the residents of Mesolongi during the battle against the Turks at the Greek War of Independence. During the Greek uprising that broke out in 1821, the local people killed the Turkish governor and liberated Mesolongi. As a result, in 1825, the Turkish sultan sent a military force to reconquer the city. The Turks besieged the city for nearly a year and the residents of the city were forced to fight hunger and epidemics without any means and without any external assistance. Until they decided to escape the siege and made a plan for that at the night of April 10, 1826. But the plan was passed on to the Turks by a local traitor, and the Turkish forces waited for them. During the heroic battle that developed, Many of the city's residents, including women and childrenת were killed. In memory of the battle, a memorial parade is held every year, on Sunday, of the week before the Greek Pascha, a parade that is ending in the Memorial Garden. Bottom line: Do not miss this historical heritage site that commemorate the heroism and the courage of the brave residents of Mesolongi!
Memorial park in honour to Greek Heroes
its very nice but if it had a café and less exposed water cables it would be goergous
An open-air museum of modern Greek history. The monuments (either graves or cenotaphs) bear the names of many Greek fighters for Independence and philhellenes who fought and fell here during the city's siege by the Ottomans in 1826.
A great idea, instead of having a museum, that people would barely visit, here locals can take their kids for a walk and they can make their first steps among the heroes. A holy place for every Greek and every free man.
The most sacred part of Messolonghi. Very beautiful historical place. Makes you feel respect and awe.
