The Greek Association for Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapies (GACBP) was founded in Thessaloniki in 1994 as an organization for the promotion of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies (CBT). GACBP became a member association of the European Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies (EABCT) in 1995. EABCT is an organization that brings together 44 individual associations from 31 different countries. EABCT has now over 25,000 individual clinicians and researchers in its membership making it one of the largest psychotherapy organizations in the world. As means for the best possible promotion of CBT we have chosen to plan the following a) the development of psycho-educational CBT programs for people with psychological problems (scientific events open to the public, relevant books and leaflets), as well as b) training activities for the members of our association, and other interested mental health professionals.
