The Hellenic Cystic Fibrosis Association is a Greek patient organisation, created by parents of children suffering from the disease, which brings together al the Cf patients in Greece with the medical professionals committed to improving the quality of life for people with CF by promoting high quality research, education and care. Based in Athens, it has been operating since 1983 and is a member and representative of Greece in the international organisations of cystic fibrosis, such as “Cystic fibrosis Worldwide” (CFW), in Europe (CFE) and in the Greek Alliance of Rare Diseases (PESPA). The association has been able to actively participate and accompany adults and patients from the hospitals, where patients are monitored with cystic fibrosis. The HCFA is also collaborating with the "Parent Association of children with Cystic Fibrosis of North Greece" established in 1989 and based in Thessaloniki.
