HEROMACT is an Non Profit Organization founded in 2015 spring by 7 Roma persons. It gathers a large experience, as some of its members are involved in efforts for Roma integration since the middle '80s. Main purposes of HEROMACT, are: • Service to the entire Society, through the improvement of the Socio-Economic and Educational "position" of Roma in Greek Society. • Impregnation of Social consciousness with the feeling of necessity to support the weakest Social parts, formulating conditions for Cohesion, Solidarity and Equal Opportunities. • Activation of Educated Roma and Empowerment of Roma youths and women for the strengthening of their role in public life. • Highlighting of Huge Social and Economic Profit could be earned for Whole Society due to Roma Integration. HEROMACT is fully aware, that tackling Social Exclusion requires wide and sustainable alliances, so our efforts targeting to: • Planning of Holistic Integrated Policy which addressing the problems. • Disclosure of Roma "Positive Aspects" and mitigation of their negative "image", towards Institutions, Media and Broader Society. • Strengthening of Roma Self-Esteem and converting them into active Citizens, for the benefit of Entire Society. Actions of HEROMACT: • HEROMACT has Implemented the "Roma Scientists" project, concerning the detection, networking and activation of Roma Graduates. • HEROMACT supports as an external advisor the implementation of "JUSTROM" project, which is a common initiative of E.C. and Council of Europe. • HEROMACT is implementing a Research which will be materialized in 9 locations of Attica Region, concerning the Living and Growing-up conditions of Roma children and families. This project is implemented in cooperation with Athens University, and it's funded by the Early Childhood Program (ECP) of the Open Society Foundations (OSF). • HEROMACT has involved in implementation of "LERI" project and especially in Agia Varvara and Megara municipalities. LERI is a project of FRA.
