Imbros Gorge provides the opportunity for a beautiful and relatively short and easy hike in the Cretan mountains over Hora Sfakion. As always, better start early to avoid tourist congestion. The whole Gorge is ... gorgeous, but highlights include the magnificent arch just before the southern exit, and the walls of 'Ξεπητηρα' (Xepitira), where the Gorge is only 1.6 metres wide! You can touch both sides with your hands. Another advantage of the Imbros Gorge is that you can really enjoy the flora, because it's generally quite narrow, apart from its last kilometer or so. Good walking shoes are advised, because the path consists mainly of boulder. Do also take water with you. Check my photo set to enjoy an illustrative virtual hike down the Gorge.

Very beautiful place, its about a 3-4 hour walk over rock paths. Its a bit rough on your ankles, but really worth it. We chose the small Imbros because the big one sounded a bit too much. Nice cantina on top with good food.

Nice and easy walking trail, especially in April time with the cool weather. need to take care of the return to the starting point, trail is not circulated. don't miss the view form the road when heading down to sea level. it's just amazing!

Beautiful gorge. Easy walk for the whole family. Though look where you walk, as the stones on the track are quite loose so take the steps with care.

Lovely natur and scenery. A lot shorter than Samaria (which are my favourite) and an easier hike. Good for all ages
