I ate two meals at Platanos Restaurant - good, home-cooked meals. The server didn’t understand "vegan," thought I meant just "no meat.” The giant beans in tomato sauce were very tasty and a full meal for me. 10% off when you’re staying at Mythos Guest House. Lovely to sit on the covered patio, sip a glass of wine, eat some local food and gaze upon the mammoth rocks above.

Being gluten free and vegan eating out is challenging. I was very impressed with how helpful the waitress was and that she didn't need reminding of the dietary restrictions throughout the meal. The dishes were absolutely delicious. The turlu was the best I've had anywhere!
Great family ran little Greek tavern, attached to mythos guest house next door and another guest house near the train station. You get 10% off the food if you stay in either of the guest houses plus access to a pool. The family are lovely and made us feel very welcome. The food was delicious. Highly recommend.
I stayed at the hotel, Mythos, next door to this little restaurant off the beaten track. You'll have to walk about 5 min from the center of town but the food is worth it. All their ingredients are sourced from the surrounding area and did not disappoint as my first meal on my Greek trip. Total cost was less than 9 euros (10% discount for staying at the hotel), and definitely hit the spot after travelling 5 hrs on a train from Athens.
Hidden place very simple very much being discovered. Pleasant people, just at the foot of the mountains, wonderfûview, nice and simple and savoury cuisine and pleasant attention. I definitely recommend ! !!!!
Recommended by the Monasteri Guesthouse. Easy walk through town. Staff was friendly and explained the menu to us. Excellent food and plenty to eat. Glad we visited Platanos.
Outstanding food and great ambiance, outdoor seating available, with very courteous and speedy staff. This was our best meal in Kalabaka.
You should avoid the restaurants on the major plazas and eat here instead. You won't be sorry.
