A good museum of contemporary art. Hosts temporary exhibitions and the great Kostakis collection of Russian avant guard. One of the biggest collections of the kind. When visited (1/2018) hosted the 6th bienalle.

Beautiful museum with friendly and accomdating staff.
During our visit there was a Thessaloniki Bienale of contemporary art and on the last floor, the Costakis collection/20th century Russian paintings/ but small part of it!
Absolutely brilliant collection of Russian avant-garde art which was well worth the long(ish) walk from city centre. Excellent documentary helps to explain the journey taken by the artists, as well as the role played by Costakis as collector. Fascinating.
Okay for fans of modern art I guess.
I ve been following this musreum since the early 00s and its one of the most exciting institutions in the city. It hosts shirt term exhibitions mostly of contemporary art and new media. I strongly recommend it
I really appreciate such initiatives.
