A lovely place. Blessed by nature. The monastery is gorgeous even if is a bit forgotten by the people surrounding it. I remember this place years ago being full of life but not anymore more. I remember this place being full of animals, not the case now. What can you do! Still a great place to visit, educate and dont forget to support it by a small tip!

Peaceful and tranquile place surrounded by green and nature. Worth visiting not only for religious purposes, but also for admiring nature and a Greek traditional monastery.

We love doing things that most people don't get to do. The Monastery of Daphni is one of these. You get to explore the Monastery of Daphni, a 11th-century Byzantine monastery listed as an World Heritage site together with Monasteries Hosios Loukas and Nea Moni of Chios. Enjoy a scenic ride toward the first stop of the Monastery of Daphni, a 11th-century Byzantine monastery listed as an World Heritage site together with Monasteries Hosios Loukas and Nea Moni of Chios. The interior of the church is decorated with superb mosaics, a unique, fine example of the Classical idealism of Middle Byzantine art. The crowded scenes of the mosaics narrate scenes from the life of Christ and the Virgin. It is worth the time to see and learn its history.
