The imagery is really beautiful and even for a non-believer like me it's eyecandy. The paintings are very illustrative, the place is just at the corner of the main street, the decor is very complete. I think it's worth seeing it first-hand if you're roaming Thessaloniki.

The Monastery sits within the busy streets of Thessaloniki, and from the outside you might miss it entirely. The most interesting fact is that it was not converted into a Mosque during the Ottoman Empire. It also has some beautiful byzantine frescoes and make sure to check out the ceilings!

A spiritual surprise in the very busy center of Thessaloniki, this monastery is worth a visit. Although that the buildings are contemporary, the old ones having been destroyed in the great fire of the year 1917, the monastery has an history reaching back as far as the 9th century.

Wonderful Orthodox monastery church, located in Ermou street. The Byzantine Frescos on the ceiling easily catch the eye. The artwork inside remained untouched because this is one of the three monasteries that was not converted into a mosque during the Ottoman Empire for unspecified reasons.
