The Archaeological Museum of Nicopolis, located in Preveza, is a must once you are visiting this part of Greece and it has by far the most friendly employees! Once you enter, they offer you a bottle of water and they invite you to sit on a comfortable couch to watch a short but very useful video. Then they escort you to the different chambers of the museum and are more than willing to answer all your questions about the exhibits. The museum exhibits items that date from the pre-historic era to modern times although it was mainly built to host the exhibits of Ancient Nicopolis which is located a bit more than 2km from it. Nicopolis, the capital city of the Roman province of Epirus, was founded in 29 BC by Caesar Augustus, in commemoration of his victory in 31 BC, over the famous couple, Antony and Cleopatra, at the Battle of Actium nearby. The city of Nicopolis is one of the best ancient cities in the whole world.

A very well organized and well established museum representing the history of Nikopolis nearby. The ticket also provides access to the archaeological site.
Well worth a visit combined with the archaeological site. Good value and lots to see.
Much better than expected.
Nice museum with a good historical overview.
A rather small museum with nice layout and helpful staff. Well worth a visit because with an 8 ticket you also get access to the ancient town of Nicopolis.
Place is good, full of very interesting artifacts and information. The only downside is very short.
Small but full of helpful information and nice ancient things from Nikopolis and neighboring areas. The staff was extremely kind and smiley
