However, after 3 years of Research & Development PHEE’s team has brought those leaves back to life, being the first company worldwide to fully utilize them as a primary raw material. A pioneering natural bio-based composite material has been developed as such. The first marketable application of PHEE’s patented manufacturing process is the PHEE-board. PHEE-board’s laboratory performance indicates that it can be considered as a replacement of particleboard, plywood, and fibreboard. Also, it is a highly aesthetic cellulose-based material that can be used to develop high value-added products. Rather than using harmful resins, we bind the dead leaves of sea-grass Posidonia Oceanica with our bio-resin through an innovative manufacturing technique.
