Egina, Greece

Good for kids
An old tower, a few minutes walk from Aegina port, worth a look. Unfortunately you cant go inside. It made me think of what else was around here at the time of its construction. Peaceful surroundings.

I just loved getting to see the tower and to know that the Venetian tower of Marcellus (17th century), located inside the old town is easy to get to. Actually, you don't have to walk much from the harbor to get there. Aegina also has another treat: it is the land of pistachio! Oh, my eternal goodness! I had fresh homemade pistachio ice cream that I will never forget.
4* because it is beautiful but abandoned.. The park surrounding it filled with garbage and last time visited by a gardener might have been when the tower was built...
Very interesting!
You can climb the steps but you can't go in.
Could of had some more info about it's history, went on Sunday wasn't open to go inside but wasn't expecting it to be all the same.
Nothing to see really, you can't go inside. It's just a building with not enough information. You can climb the stairs up to the second floor for a semi-nice view of the city.
Nice place to check as part of the local scenery.
