Use to be amazing - about 2,500 years ago It's simply a set of nicely arranged stones nowadays. Some theatrical performance today would bring that history back to life. Hopefully some beautiful sunny day…

Elegant, well designed and well preserved example of ancient Greek theatre. Not to be missed.

There’s really no need for staff to be rude, especially during COVID. We know it’s a tough time for everyone and tourists are just trying to see the country within the confines and restrictions of government advice. Note this is not a language barrier issue but an inability to listen and accommodate which is unfortunate and disappointing. Beyond this, the site and grounds are well kept but unfortunately the service is also a component of customer experience and the team have failed. Just to bear in mind for the traveller: avoid dealing with staff at the tourists sites as much as possible as it’s not representative of the otherwise welcoming and lovely Athenian residents we have experienced throughout our stay.

It is good to go and visit there... you will find the entrance after Acropolis gate... You can book a ticket from 10 AM to 3 PM and the cost of ticket between 5 Euro and 15 Euro.. Go at 7:30 to sit in the upper tire to attend the performance and see the moon in the sky.

There is not much left unfortunately and compared to the other theatre it's not that impressive but one can imagine what it must have looked like 2000 years ago in its full glory. This is part of the acropolis trail so you will come across it.
