I had my passport stolen and went to the Australian Embassy in Athens to ask for help with this problem. I needed a emergency replacement passport within 1 day since I was about to leave Athens. Olga in the Australian Embassy office was extremely helpful ,caring, efficient and very professional my replacement passport was ready within 1 day, a truly thankful, in truth she makes a great difference to help Australian Citizens when we need it the most. Thanks Olga for your great help..

I had to wait two weeks for an appointment. No parking (I paid 6 euros around the corner for the hour). Very expensive (100 Euros for a witnessed signature and a a certified copy). It will take you 5-10 minutes to get through all the layers of security (Building security will have to record your ID, then the consulate doorman will get your ID and then interrogate about your business here - which I am fairly certain is none of his concern since he has my ID and I am on the appointment list- and then you have to go through the metal detectors).
