Large empty space, with a few tourists and people walking their dogs. Old buildings produce nostalgic feelings in the visitor. The place isn't sufficiently described on plaques or boards. When you're in, you don't know what you're looking at...
Absolutely beautiful place to spend couple hours. We went there at lunch time and it was busy. Less busy would be in the morning. Highly recommend this place.
A nice old fortress in the nice city of Corfu Town. This is the oldest fortress of two available in Corfu Town. The place is kept up to standard and it is worth a visit. For those who love history, this is a gem. The place is easily reached by car, public transport and by boat.
The Fortress is spectacular and monumental. You should definitely reserve about 3-4 hours to walk and see all important part of the structure. It's a pity that many parts of this military building are not preserved enough and therefore are not reachable for tourists.
a very nice fortress and it's a worth to climb up to the lighthouse on top of the hill, from there you have a splendid view around the entire town, fort and the sea, on clear days you're able the view Albania, the entire coast of eastern Corfu as well as the Greek mainland
Great place for sightseeing. From the top of fortress one will find beautiful panorama of Corfu city and harbour. Entry 6 eur, kids under 18yo free.
