As an engineer, the Corinth canal is a marvel in and of itself. However, we also enjoyed the bridge that sinks into the water to let boats pass over it, instead of moving up to let boats go underneath. Impressive!

Amazing boat trip. A must-do from many aspects.

Diolkos must have been built either at the end of the 7th century BC, or, most likely, at the beginning of the 6th century BC, when Periander was a tyrant in Corinth. Because the trade of Corinth was in great growth at that time, he thought of building a special road, on which ships would be transported from the Corinthian Gulf to the Saronic Gulf and vice versa across the land. Several sections of this ancient road have been saved and are in the maintenance phase.

A lovely place to visit and gaze upon the gorgeously glistening waters of the Gulf of Corinth, the isthmus of Corinth and the archaeological remnants under the sparkling waves :)

Another one ancient Greek tragedy. One very important achievement and ancient construction is left by the hands of weather and pure mind of supposed greek governments

Nothing much, better watch a relevant YouTube documentary. Just 10 meters of stone paved road. No signs, no info, completely left to your imagination. Pity.

Very interesting place considering how the ancient Greeks used to pull their ships through the passage. Highly recommended but with the correct tour guide. I had the most amazing experience with Ancient Greece Tours. Go for it!

A very interesting bridge of Poseidon, which is submerged to allow sailing through the Corinth Canal. Especially unusual attraction for children.
