Beautiful fortress from outside. Not open for visitors yet though but it's a nice place to see on top of Ancient Aptera. Wish there was more information outside.

Fantastic site, very cheap, visited at same time as knossos and the museum. After exploring the fortress and taking in the views from the top, it's well worth heading up the main street, there is an amazing ice cream Shop near the top on the right. Gorgeous!
