Korinthos, Greece

Interesting site - we arrived just over an hour before closing and managed to make the summit but more time would have been better. Stunning views and good exercise.

Acrocorinth (Greek: Ακροκόρινθος), \Upper Corinth\, the acropolis of ancient Corinth, is a monolithic rock overseeing the ancient city of Corinth, Greece. In the estimation of George Forrest, “It is the most impressive of the acropoleis of mainland Greece.” With its secure water supply, Acrocorinth's fortress was repeatedly used as a last line of defense in southern Greece because it commanded the Isthmus of Corinth, repelling foes from entry by land into the Peloponnese peninsula.
This is the must stop if you in the Corinth region. The place looks amazing when you approach it via highway and even more when you climb it to the top. Really visit is the must as the sun gets nasty, and the road in the castle is slippery so be prepared. Nice stop for photo shoots as well
Really cool place to check out, the town is great, the bay is nice. The wild dogs are friendly. Heads-up, no tripods.
Excellent place for hiking, the castle reminds me of some scenes of game of thrones... of some games that I once played, I pretended to be a soldier who is carrying the command of the commander: getting to the top the mountain to see if there is any enemy approaching!
I am giving 4 stars only because it was so difficult to find out the opening hours. It is open only until 15:30 in the afternoon so don't plan for sunset here even though I think it would have been great. The view is amazing and I recommend a stop to this place
A nice and beautiful view from the fortress . It is free to enter but the place closes at three pm and those who are late to get out wil spend overnight by themselves. Be aware.
Make sure you have climbing shoes ir is steep in places.there is a cafè with toilet facilities near the entrance.
